– 1 1/4 cup warm milk 110 degrees Fahrenheit – 1 cup granulated sugar divided – 2 tsp dry active yeast – 7 1/4 cups bread flour spooned and leveled off with knife – 1/2 tsp salt – 6 eggs (+1 egg for egg wash) – 1 tsp vanilla extract – 1 cup unsalted butter softened

1. Make the yeast mixture.

1. Mix the ingredients (except butter).

2. Knead in the butter.

Let the dough rise.

STEP 3

Braid the dough.

1. Let it rise again.
