Instructions

  • Add the matcha powder into a deep measuring cup and pour in the boiling water. Use an electric matcha whisk or bamboo matcha whisk to thoroughly combine the Matcha in the hot water. Tip: Matcha is very hard to mix/dissolve without the proper type of whisk, so if you don't have the tools, you can add 1/2 cup boiling water and 2 tsp matcha into a blender to whisk it up well.
  • Then mix in the vanilla syrup. You can use simple syrup or white chocolate powder dissolved in a tablespoon of hot water. Adjust the sweetness amount according to your liking.
Steps to make an Iced Matcha Latte: dissolve the matcha powder in boiling water in a measuring cup and combine with a matcha whisk, then add in the vanilla syrup.
  • Fill a 16 oz glass or cup with ice about 3/4 of the way. Then add the milk and mixed matcha. If you have an electric matcha whisk, you can whisk up 1/4 cup of cold milk and turn it into cold foam. Add the cold foam on top (this is totally optional). Now stir and enjoy!
Steps to make an Iced Matcha Latte: add ice to a glass, then the milk, then the matcha mixture, and top with cold foam.

Notes

  • Use richer milk- Your iced matcha green tea latte will be richer, creamier, and sweeter with higher fat milks, such as 2% and whole milk.
  • Get a matcha whisk- Matcha is very hard to mix/dissolve without the proper type of whisk, so use one so your latte is perfectly smooth.
  • Only make cold foam with 2% milk or higher- Higher fat milks can foam up much better than skim milk, 1%, or plant-based milks.
  • Adjust the sweetness level- Taste test your drink to make sure you have enough sweetness to balance the bitterness of the matcha. Always add a little syrup at a time so it's not overly sweet.
