In a large bowl, add the shrimp, lemon juice, 3 Tbsp melted butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Use a spoon to mix everything together well. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine the panko bread crumbs, chopped parsley, 2 Tbsp melted butter, and a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat. Note: the extra pepper flakes are optional.
Bake in the oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12 minutes. Then broil at the end for about 2 minutes to crisp up the top. Keep a close eye and be careful not to burn the top.
Notes
Add extra heat- Add extra red pepper flakes to the breadcrumbs to make this Baked Shrimp Scampi a little spicier.
Lay the shrimp in a single layer- You want to make sure that the shrimp fully cook, so lay them out in one layer. Piling them on each other will make heat circulation difficult and slow down cooking.
Don't let the top burn- While broiling the baked shrimp scampi, keep a close eye on it and be careful not to burn the top.
