Recipe Details
I love these Air Fryer Pork Chops because they’re simple and delicious. This is one 30-minute meal you just have to try for yourself!
- TASTE: The breading is made with Parmesan cheese and seasonings so these meaty chops have a cheesy, salty finish.
- TEXTURE: The outside of the pork chops is covered in a Panko crust, making it super crunchy. But the inside of the chop is tender and juicy.
- TIME: This dish takes less than 30 minutes to make.
- EASE: This recipe is so easy! Plus, no messy fry oil to deal with. I’ve got step-by-step instructions and pictures to walk you through, too.
What You’ll Need
Ingredient Notes
- Pork chops- Use bone-in pork loin chops for this recipe for the best results. Frozen and boneless can also be used.
- Panko breadcrumbs- These add the crunch to the pork chops. Panko is a crunchier, crisper version of regular breadcrumbs and adds extra texture to this dish.
- Eggs- These act as a binder holding the Panko and cheese to the chops.
- Parmesan cheese- This ingredient adds nutty, salty, cheesy flavor that is delicious on these Air Fryer Pork Chops.
- Seasonings- Fresh garlic, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper add great taste to this pork recipe.
Add-ins and Substitutions
- Substitute frozen pork chops- Pat them dry before dredging and placing them in the air fryer. They will just need a slightly longer cooking time than thawed pork chops.
- Add other seasonings- Try making this with herbs like rosemary, thyme, or sage, or using spices like garlic powder, cayenne pepper, cumin, chili pepper, or oregano.
- Use boneless chops- Boneless pork chops work for this recipe, but keep in mind that the bone is what adds flavor and moisture to your pork chop, so they may be drier.
- Make them gluten-free- Using gluten-free Panko bread crumbs work. Or you can coarsely crush up rice squares as a simple gluten-less breadcrumb that adds crunch.
How to Make Air Fryer Pork Chops
- Make the breading. Grate the Parmesan cheese into a large bowl, then add the Panko breadcrumbs, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly and set aside.
- Make the egg mixture. For the dredge, add the eggs and grated garlic to a separate bowl. Then whisk them for about 1 minute.
- Dredge the pork chops. Pat the pork chops dry and then dip them in the egg, coating them completely. Allow excess egg to drip off before placing them in the breading, covering all sides of the pork chop with the Panko mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray the bottom of the basket with cooking spray.
- Cook the pork chops. Place 2 pork chops in the basket and spray the tops of them with cooking spray. Cook them for about 10 minutes, flip, and then cook them for another 8-10 minutes, until they reach an internal temp of 145 degrees. Continue cooking all of the pork, 2 at a time, until done.
Pro Tip: The thickness of the pork chop will cause the cook time to vary. Check to make sure the pork is done with a meat thermometer. It needs to be at least 145 degrees.
Recipe Tips
- Preheat the air fryer- Always preheat your air fryer so it is at the optimum temperature for cooking and air flow, ensuring that your food is perfectly crispy and cooks evenly.
- Don’t overfill the air fryer basket- If there isn’t adequate air flow, then the pork won’t cook evenly or fully. Only place 2 chops in at a time and keep them from touching.
- Use a meat thermometer- Pork chops are done when their internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a meat thermometer to check.
- Use a good quality air fryer- We’ve tested multiple air fryers and found that the Gormia air fryer is one of the best. It’s affordable and strong enough to cook meat for optimal crispness.
FAQs
If you cook your pork chops at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, they should be done within 20 minutes. However, the time depends on the thickness of your pork, so check the internal temperature to be sure they are completely done before taking them out of the air fryer.
Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. When it reaches that temperature, cook them for about 18-20 minutes total. Just enough to cook them to an internal temperature of 145 degrees, but not overcook them and make them tough.

Easy and delicious! Our whole family love this recipe. I used one egg instead of two. I just cracked an egg onto the pork chops, mixed it up, then dipped them into the breadcrumb and cheese mixture. I cooked it for 18 minutes total. I will make it again and again.

Hi Valerie 🙂 Your awesome feedback made my day! So happy to hear your whole family loved this pork chop recipe! Thank you so much for your feedback and support! 🙂
Stephanie Lanzalotto says
There were absolutely delicious. I cooked them 10 minutes on side one, and 5 minutes on side 2, and they were a little overcooked. Still moist, but a little tough. Next time I will test for doneness at 5 minutes per side. 18-20 minutes is way too long. Otherwise a great recipe.
Dina says
Thank you for the kind and honest review, Stephanie! A lot of times, the cooking time depends on the thickness of the pork chops. The thicker the chop, the longer the cooking time, and vice versa for thinner pork chops.

Great recipe! Unfortunately all the crispy crust stuck to the air fryer basket. I sprayed the heck out of it too! I used a paper liner for the second batch and they came out great! Very flavorful and crispy! Will definitely be making again!
Dina says
Thank you for sharing that! Great tip. I am glad you enjoyed the pork chops!
Julie says
Hello. I’m a newbie to air frying. I’m so confused about cooking times and temps. Some pork chop recipes say air fry at 400, some say 375, some say 390. Which is it? Also do you use the same time and temp on any brand of air fryer? I recently purchased the 5qt Instant Vortex. I’m worried I’m going to mess my pork chops up. I’m so confused. HELP!!!
Dina says
Hi Julie, I found the 400 degrees F worked best, especially if you want to get a crunchy crust on the outside.

Bonnie says
These were not NOT juicy porkchops! They were tough and dried out. Yes I followed the recipe. I am disappointed!!!!
Dina says
Hi Bonnie. It sounds like you overcooked your pork chops. Overcooked pork chops would be dry and tough, however, that is not the recipe itself. Since every piece of meat is a different thickness you want to go by the internal temperature of the meat. I give times based on my air fryer and my meat and recommended using an instant-read meat thermometer. I hope that helps clarify.

Easy and good! Instead of garlic in the egg bath, I used Kinders salt, pepper, and garlic seasoning along with the paprika. I also had thin cut chops so I halved the cooking time. Great results!

Carol says
I cooked these last night and I have some left over, that are kind of thin, can they be reheated in the air fryer?
simplyhomecooked says
Hi Carol 🙂 Yes, you can heat these pork chops in the air fryer. Just use a low temperature and keep an eye on them. So that you don’t overcook or dry them out. Hope that helps 🙂
Tina says
This has a great taste and texture I used center cut porkchops about 3/4 inch thick, bone in. It worked great in my Ninja Air Fryer on the Air Fry setting at the 390 as recommended for 10 minutes on each side, Others I tried the temperature was too low and I kept having to adjust cooking times, This worked like a charm and so delish and juicy. I pinned it! I used my rack from my Air Fryer rather than the basket that came with it.
Thanks so much.

Hi, I have a question about the air fryer. I don’t have the original type. I have the Air Fryer Pro that has racks inside, not a basket.
Will this recipe work in that one?
simplyhomecooked says
Hi Jane 🙂 Yes, you can cook these pork chops in that air fryer. The cook time should be similar but every air fryer is slightly different. Just make sure your internal temperature is 145 degrees F. I hope you love this air fryer pork chops!
Josefina Fernandez says

Fabulous Pork chop recipe! My entire family loved this and asked for us to repeat it in the future. I thought I was cooking with the intent to have leftovers for the next day, but my family cleaned the plate. The timing was perfect for medium cut chops. Thank you!

ELIZABETH says
This is very good and easy to do. My only comment, really, would be to check your chops a bit sooner than the 18 to 20 minutes suggested–my bone-in chop was done in 15 minutes, and I’ve cooked boneless chops in 9 or 10 minutes.
simplyhomecooked says
Hi Elizabeth, glad to hear you enjoyed this air fryer pork chops recipe 🙂 Regarding the cooking time, I mention it depends on the thickness of your pork chops. I also mention using a meat thermometer to get the best results. Hope that helps clarify 🙂
